Skid Row

Pras Michel, one third of the hip-hop group The Fugees, takes to the streets of Los Angeles to live as a homeless person for nine days and nights.

He and an undercover film crew use surveillance cameras to bring awareness to the dangerous, drug-infested streets of downtown L.A.’s Skid Row, a 50-square block area where an average of 90,000 homeless and transient people live on any given night. More than just a place, it’s a way of life, a mindset and the last resort for those who have given up on society and, in many cases, themselves.

Pras’ journey is difficult and riddled with hunger, exposure to the elements, criminals, drugs and danger. It’s also life-changing, as he learns not only how to fend for himself, but discovers the dark, very human and, at times, humorous underbelly of Los Angeles.
