dawn richardsDiddy-Dirty Money, including Dawn Richard, who will be featured on the second season of “Noble Exchange” later this summer, won the best group award at the 2011 BET Awards on June 26th. The group, who was up against Cali Swag District, New Boyz, N.E.R.D. and Travis Porter, seemed ecstatic to win the award as they made their way to the stage.

Both “Hello Good Morning” and “Coming Home,” have become hit singles off of Diddy-Dirty Money’s 2010 album, Last Train to Paris, and “Coming Home,” which features Skylar Grey, reached the Top 20. The album, according to Diddy, was something completely unique, and told a love story from both a male and female perspective.

The group thanked their fans, and Dawn seemed especially touched when she said, “From New Orleans, Louisiana to the BET stage, if you never believed that a dream was possible, this moment right now. Thank you guys so much for it.”

Even amid all the excitement of winning an award Richard focused on her roots and where she came from much like she does on her journey to Haiti with “Noble Exchange,” which will air on Aug. 30.
