Katrina’s Children
“Katrina’s Children” is a multi-faceted portrait of 19 children from different neighborhoods of New Orleans. Told entirely from the children’s point of view, the film explores the impact of Hurricane Katrina on their lives and includes animated sequences of their artwork.
Aching with sadness, yet grounded in hope, “Katrina’s Children” is ultimately a celebration of children’s extraordinary resilience and a tribute to New Orleans’ unique and indomitable spirit.
“Katrina’s Children” received an Honorable Mention at the Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival in Houston and was a Jury Prize Winner at the New Orleans Human Rights Film Festival.
