Healing with Animals

People benefit on a physical, emotional and psychological level when they interact with animals. Experience a cat that provides “purr-therapy” to a man in pain, and a very special canine burn victim who brings joy to human burn survivors. Meet dogs that are rehabilitating women in prison and dolphins who are helping autistic kids respond to the world around them. Through each program, discover the loyalty, love, compassion, devotion, understanding and the incredible healing that animals bring.

“Healing with Animals” explores the positive, healing effects that animals have on people. In North American culture, animal-assisted therapy is considered leading edge, progressive and innovative. Scientific reports tell us that there are a multitude of positive physical and emotional responses that occur when interacting with animals — whether it’s a llama, dog, cat, dolphin, horse or other species.
