up houseThe suburban city of Herriman, just outside of Salt Lake City, has seen a surge in visitors after it replicated the house from the animated film, Up. An estimated 27,000 visitors have flocked to see the vibrant green, yellow, purple and pink house. Some visitors have even shopped for real estate in the area, hoping to be close to the movie-inspired recreation.

Bangerter Homes builder Blair Bangerter said the attraction continues to welcome about 1,000 visitors a week. And it will remain open as a tourist attraction, with a special Halloween event planned: Bangerter’s father, former Utah Governor Norm Bangerter, will dress up as the Up character Carl Fredricksen and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.
