Inspired by the New Orleans culture, humanitarian and eco designer David Peck brought to life a spring 2012 collection that is colorful, quirky and classic. Whether it’s the culture of the food, jazz or the flora and fauna, each piece in Crop by David Peck has its part in the quirky patterns that define Peck’s latest collection. Full of vibrant colors, however, they are all made wearable with timeless and feminine silhouettes.

Peck sources materials abroad, using fair trade and organic cotton fabric from India and 100 percent traditionally-milled silks from Korea. When designing each collection, Peck considers its impact, and how it could be more sustainable.

Ten percent of the proceeds from the spring 2012 collection will go toward the Gulf Restoration Network to help restore the Gulf Coast. “They do a lot to not only raise money but raise awareness,” Peck said. “What I love about them is that they are looking at education, both environmentally and economically, and how the region can be rejuvenated and how people who have lost their jobs or lost their livelihoods can be transformed.” (via @TreeHugger)
