Facebook & Google+ Face Off [Infographic]

When Google launched its Facebook nemesis, Google+, it received a high level of professional and personal interest among businesses, techies and just regular folks who enjoy social media. But since its launch this summer, how has it stacked up against the 7-year-old Facebook? In the beginning, it made an impressive dent in the social atmosphere. Google+ garnered more than 20 million users in the first month. Of course, that number doesn’t come close to Facebook’s 750 million (and growing) members.
However, recent statistics show that people are losing interest and not sticking around the new social networking platform. Alexa.com, an information service that tracks Web traffic, posted stats that showed a steep drop-off in Google+ traffic. In early August, 2.89 percent of all Google.com traffic coming into Alexa’s tracking system was coming from Google+. Now, it’s a mere 1.82 percent.
This infographic shows stats and data from side-by-side comparisons, including chat, friends and privacy between Facebook and Google+. Hopefully, it will shed light on whether Google+ is headed for defeat.
