Hollywood’s newest “Breakthrough Artist” announces she wants to spin the spotlight and start using her growing fame to highlight humanitarian efforts.

AnnaLynne McCord, co-star of the hit TV series “90210” – a modern remake of the early 90s show that starred actors like Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and Luke Perry – received the honor of Breakthrough Standout Performance earlier this month at Crest 3D White’s Breakthrough Of The Year Awards held in West Hollywood (Aug. 15).

During the awards, the up-and-coming 23-year-old expressed her desire to follow the example of Angelina Jolie and become a Hollywood humanitarian.

“I’m excited that Breakthrough has given me this opportunity, and I’m actually going to talk to my peers about something that’s close to my heart – the fight to end human trafficking,” McCord told HollywoodLife.com.

The actress, who is also widely recognized for her roles in the TV series “Nip/Tuck” and the 2005 film Transporter 2, says she doesn’t want to become “lost” amidst the glamour and fame of being a red carpet icon:

“I started to work a lot in this industry and to get really bummed out by the egocentric, everything is about me, blah blah blah [attitude of Hollywood.]”

McCord continued, expressing her desire to see more of “young Hollywood” become more actively involved in humanitarian causes.

Her thoughts on Jolie: “[Angelina] is one of the most incredible women I’ve ever seen in this industry. I would love to be half the woman she is!”
