8 Things We Love About Today’s TV Stars

1. The cast of Glee is donating 100 percent of proceeds from its cover of Do They Know It’s Christmas? to a British charity called The Band Aid Trust. It supports development projects throughout East Africa.

2. Michael J. Fox is asking people who have Parkinson’s disease – as well as those who don’t – to sign up for his Fox Trial Finder. It’s a site that connects people with Parkinson’s research trials they can sign up for.

3. Pamela Anderson recently hosted a Frank Sinatra birthday gala to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The organization supports people with Alzheimer’s disease and their loved ones. It also helps fund Alzheimer’s research.

4. Disney stars Zendaya Coleman and Madison Pettis recently teamed up to support Toys for Tots. The organization organizes gift drives throughout the United States to provide Christmas gifts for poor children. They helped promote a fundraiser for the organization and showed up to help out and donate.

5. Ellen Degeneres has been asking her daytime viewers to donate to Toys for Tots for the holidays.

6. Actress Lucy Liu, who got her start on “Ally McBeal,” is supporting UNICEF’s 12 Days of Christmas Campaign. In a blog post on UNICEF’s website, Liu wrote, “Every year UNICEF offers a collection of cards and gifts that support its lifesaving work for children all around the world.”

7. Ian Somerhalder plays a vampire on CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” but the blue-eyed hunk is sinking his teeth in environmental issues, including species conservation. When he is not filming, he is spearheading the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, a nonprofit organization working to transform our planet.
