Halogen’s Upcycled Billboard Project

Have you ever thought about what happens to the billboards and banners after they’re no longer in use? They usually end up in landfills.

Halogen TV partnered with an organization called Plywood People in Atlanta that created a project called Billboard Bags that both re-uses and upcycles billboards, creating something fashionably functional while providing jobs, skills and a hand to local people in need in Halogen’s hometown of Charlotte, N.C.

This video is what we learned about Plywood People, and it shows how we we were able to give back to our local community by recycling our old billboards and banners into bags that we’ll be using as gifts.

We encourage you to think about how your company or organization can turn your billboard or banner leftovers into a stylish gift that gives back (corporate Christmas gifts anyone?).

Learn more about the people creating the bags in “Up-cycled Billboard Bags Provide Jobs, Assistance for Refugees.”
