    COLDPLAY TO PERFORM ON HAITI TELETHON – Friday, Jan. 23, Coldplay are among the acts performing on “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief.” The two-hour telethon will broadcast live across US networks, MTV international and YouTube. The performances will then be put on sale in the iTunes store on Saturday, Jan 24. Before then, you can donate to Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal at www.oxfam.org.uk.
  • Rainn Wilson, actor in “The Office,” has donated items for an online auction hosted by OfficeTally to benefit Planting Peace for the victims of the Haitian earthquake.
  • Sources ( AFP) have confirmed George Clooney has agreed to host a telethon to benefit the relief efforts. He is working with MTV to produce the event. -CBS
  • Brad and Angelina have donated $1 million dollars to Doctors without Borders. -New York Times
  • Wyclef Jean has set up a Yele Haiti fund and has surpassed donations of $1 million dollars. -ABC
  • Artists for Peace and Justice (a group which includes actress Charlize Theron and actor James Franco) have created a “project Haiti fund” which will help rebuild a hospital. -CBC
  • Other artists who have tweeted in appeal to audiences are: Ben Stiller, Nicole Richie, Ashton/Demi, Rainn Wilson, Adam Lambert, Lindsay Lohan, and Josh Brolin.
  • The New York Yankees pledged $500K to Haiti relief -MLB.com: New York Times
  • Lance Armstrong pledged $250,000 for Haiti earthquake victims through his charity, Livestrong. -USA Today
  • United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates have canceled their planned trips to Australia next week to concentrate on the Haiti earthquake disaster. -ABC.net.au
