I vote for halogen.tv for the main domain for marketing purposes, with halogentv.com parked just in case someone types it wrong.

Now see…you swayed me by leaving your preference for me to see. I was originally going with halogentv.com simply because I’m used to everything being “.com” When I read or write it though it looks a little like halogenty.com which I would find confusing. I’m goin’ with you. Halogen.tv I think it’s easier to distinguish Halogen which is what you want easily recognized.

Breaking with majority. HalogenTV.com should remain, or something like HalogenTVNetwork.

.com will not imply that profits are the only business motive, but .tv will imply halogen is a second tier business.

But the things that matter most is whether you come up top on search engines and not some light bulb or TV component manufacturer. As a corollary, the thing that matters least these days is a short domain name because most people use a search engine (e.g. tool bar in their browser).

Buy and redirect from anything that could be mistakenly entered by someone trying to get to the site:

But we might just be the first .TV address so my vote is:
halogen.tv (and keep our current URL as a re-direct there and for SEO purposes as NYCMickey suggests)

I’m just a geek following you on twitter, but a good friend of mine is an actor in Start-Up so I would like to see Halogen be a great new network!

Also, I’m interested to see how you integrate social networking and original web content into the programming- I have an unplugged TV set and get most my entertainment on line (youtube, abc.com, hulu, netflix etc.).

Furthermore it’s cool to get an inside look at the formation of a network, so I hope you remain open and transparent.

I agree with Kyle. if you can own Halogen all by itself, it is the most intuitive name for web-seekers. .tv or .com is a secondary consideration for me.

Okay. Here’s what we opted to do.

We bought the domain name http://www.halogen.tv and will forward it to the http://www.halogentv.com URL.

i hope you bought ALL of them. (.com, .org, .biz, .info, .tv…..) There will eventually be a place and a need for use of all of them.

However, as Halogen is launched, and while it grows in popularity, I would use HalogenTV.com.
.com’s are more widely understood and accepted.

The Halogen.tv site would be grate for additional programming, bonuses, contests, news and fan interaction.

.tv is owned by tuvalu islands and sinking. Sony is selling .tv because no one uses it effectively. Stick with halogentv.com
